Steven Meier, Ph.D., PMP has 20+ years of federal and private industry experience focused on the defense, intelligence, and civil aerospace communities. He is currently the Vice President of New Business Initiatives within the Corporate Engineering and Technology at the Lockheed Martin Corporation. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development and implementation of corporate business plans for entry and growth in adjacent and horizon markets. Current focus areas include: energy, nanotechnology, cyber security, healthcare, and climate change. Prior to accepting this position he was a member of the federal government Senior Executive Service at NASA where he was a Division Director within the Office of the Chief Technologist. His Division focused on rapidly demonstrating and transitioning innovative technologies into future space missions.
Dr. Meier has provided thought leadership with over 30+ peer-reviewed publications and presentations in the areas of project management, systems engineering, applied optics, advanced materials, and astrophysics. He has a B.S. and M.S. in Physics and received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Meier earned graduate certificates from Georgetown University in Executive Leadership and Business Administration and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®).
